Car Exhaust Question

Just wanted to ask the car enthusiasts on the board:

I'm trying to find a way to have a freeflow exhaust while keeping the exhaust sound to a minimum (or to sound like stock) as not to attract attention... any ideas on how to achive this?

I have tried putting in a stock silencer near the exhaust, it kept the sound to a minimum... but you can feel the power lost which isn't really good

If there's no way to achive this... then I guess I'll have to give my neighbors a set of earplugs as a christmas gift heheheehe

bro you can try aftermarket chambered muff. im using Super megaphone chambered type jasma compliance muff. sounds like stock on low rev, but sings a little from mid to high!

bai, i bought mine 2nd hand. pero naay nakita nako surplus dinha sa Pinagdaet. naa gani 5zigen na chambered, naa sad mga jappy brands which im not familiar. murag "Cebu Performance" ang shop name. very visible ang mga surplus muff nila, naa lang sa gate naka tambak. check lang didto kung naa pa tu ang 5zigen, selling nila murag P2.5k libre daw taud. kadtung 5zigen unta ganahan nako paliton pero murag deli sakar sa akong lancer.

ive got a full 3" exhaust on my car from the turbo with a 3" high flow cat and its loud as a mother f#cker! the muffler did come with a silencer though but didnt put it on coz it does restrict a bit of power.

@NISSAN200SX - hehehe same reason i took out the stock silencer... I just want the sound to be muffled a bit, just concerned I'd wake up my neighbors when I come home 3 or 4 in the morning plus, I don't want people to know its a modded car. sort of like a sleeper setup kind of thing.

hehehe. i dont think youll have a choice man. unless you push your car a few hundred metres down the road.

The sound of an ANNOYING MUFFLER SOUND and the sound of really POWER PACKED ENGINE is totally different if the reason is to have a sleeper type car thru a quiter exhaust . Unless ang maglalis ana mga HS or elementary na pa choy choy na ug gusto lang mo pasikat kay basta saba pang lumba na wouldnt really make a difference lolz .

The sound IS actually music to my ears and pretty addicting too (which contibutes to the recent mileage drop) but I don't think everybody would agree with me on that... hahaha I'm just trying to weigh out the options and try out things... who knows.. maybe I can get the best of both worlds hehe

norrissee : bro medyo lisod jud na..naa jud ma sacrifice gamay ana sa imo gusto....hehehehe...maybe try lng ka ug use full exhaust...try to use any jasma muff ( ky kadto sa corolla nko i used a jasma muff ) medyo minimal ra ang noise :mrgreen:....medyo d kaayo saba but still naa jud gamay...hehehehe!
