Just tried Google public DNS

I used most of the time opendns as my dns server, but tried now Google pubic DNS.
Its much faster in resoling IP addresses, and latency just 1/2 compared to opendns.
Anybody else tried it?

Yes, first is 8.8.8.8, second is 8.8.4.4

There's a big difference for me. opendns is 242ms, google dns 110ms for me...

mine is opendns 270ms while google dns 107ms

Did you try to ping your gateway? Do you get timeouts when you ping it?

yes, its erratic. changes on and off with the time

Might be your cable or the cabinet. Had similar issues, and it was my cable.
