Default to CBCP(Catholic Bishop's Conference of the Philippines)...this is too much...

Archbishop Ramon Arguelles said last week to justify the decision of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines not to back the impeachment bid against Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. “Talaga naman nandaya, e. Pero kahit nandaya, maliwanag naman na si Presidente ang nanalo. Hindi siguro one million (votes) pero siguro mga ilang hundred thousand.” (“Of course, GMA cheated. But even if she cheated, clearly she won the elections. Perhaps not by one million votes but by several hundred thousand.”)

Arguelles amplified on that point: “Lahat naman nandaya, e. Natalo lang ’yung iba sa dayaan.” (“Everyone cheated anyway. Some people just lost in the cheating.”)

Last sunday in all masses CBCP's statement was read to the flock.....

i felt unease by the statement.....

*** education..... CBCP was against it..... (If you remember the DepEd was about to teach students about *** and the CBCP howled in protest.... the DepEd reviewed it again... to me this was a classic black mail move and a diversion..... )

Impeachment..... CBCP won't support it..... "Of course, GMA cheated. But even if she cheated, clearly she won the elections. Perhaps not by one million votes but by several hundred thousand.”-Archbishop Ramon Arguelles

I think the Bishops have no right to tell the people to be morally upright......

They should STOP telling people not to have pre-marital ***, not to commit adultery, not to steal, not to lie..........

it seems there is no need to do confessions anymore.....

I always believe it was the religious people who had Jesus crucified......... Certainly they have done it again to Jesus....

Its okay to cheat.... because everyone cheats.....

that was only the opinion of Archbishop Arguellesn, not to be credited as CBCP's official statement.

What's new with catholics Look at the politicians, they steal first, they kill first then ask forgiveness. ITS A CATHOLIC THING TO DO BAD AT FIRST THEN ask forgiveness afterwards. If MUSLIMS kill NONE Muslim religions, the catholics, mangawat sa or magpabadlong sa tapos ask forgiveness. THATS how catholic system work.

Well, it's his personal opinion, not necessarily the stand of the CBCP itself. It is well-known that there is divisiveness even within the CBCP, with the political bias of some of the priests even prompting them to sully the integrity of their own brother-priests.

We better leave the Church to fix its internal problems and not try to put them into the limelight everytime. It only encourages the politicization of our priesthood.

    i don't think its a personal opinion

Pope John Paul II never made such kind of statements..... for his personal opinion..... he knew it could destroy the Flock.....

from an ordinary priest it would have been understandable.... but from an archbishop...... i don't think so............
