Thread: Nvidia Physx

  1. #1

    Default Nvidia Physx

    Nvidia Physx

Does it really matter when it comes to games?

  2. #2
it really does matter if you want some eye candy pero this eats up a huge amount of performance depending on what type of games sad.
example sa batman in arkham if physics is high nindut kaau daghan mga debris etc2x nya ang fog naay physics pero kaon kaau ug performance. wa gani ko kahibaw about ani kay wa nko na high ang physics kay wa koy physics card mahulog ako processor mo carry sa burden.

  3. #3
mubuhat pud diay og physx ang processor?

  4. #4
yeah kay physx requires tons of computations therefore the processor will do the aftermath....

  5. #5
PhysX is only beneficial if you only plan to play games that are supported by PhysX. If you're only going to play WoW(hi andz!), CoD4, L4D2, MW2, DotA and some sorts, PhysX is not for you.

  6. #6
sakto si personalmgt maskin ang mga latest na mga processor mo kamang sa physics sa batman in arkham for example labi na highest settings sa physics. pero eyecandy ok kaau. if mo duwa ka DOW2,batman in arkham, prototype ug uban pa na mga games na bug.at mao na sila kusog mo kaon physics. i think ang counterstrike naay physics pero cpu ra ang ni handle so way gamit ang nvidia physics im not 100% sure ha about aning CSsource.

lol atot jd ni christian hahaha.

    Cs source doesn't have PhysX

The following games feature PhysX support:
note: Most of games listed below don't have any gain with PhysX enabled, nor any graphical enhancements, nor performance gain.

PhysX is a proprietary realtime physics engine middleware SDK acquired by Ageia (which itself was acquired by Nvidia in February 2008[1]) with the purchase of ETH Zurich spin-off NovodeX in 2004. The term PhysX can also refer to the PPU add-in card designed by Ageia to accelerate PhysX-enabled video games. Video games supporting hardware acceleration by PhysX can be accelerated by either a PhysX PPU or a CUDA-enabled GeForce GPU, thus offloading physics calculations from the CPU, allowing it to perform other tasks instead—potentially resulting in a smoother gaming experience.

Middleware physics engines allow game developers to avoid writing their own code to handle the complex physics interactions possible in modern games.

Sirs, unsay gyud angay na processor paris sa n.physx ? Intel or AMD?

  9. #9
Both processors do not really have an advantage if PhysX lang tuyo nimo.

On andz's list, as you can see, most games are actually on the consoles. Games on PC in the list don't even make half of it. So think twice on getting PhysX gyud.

    So.. get PS3 instead...
