Exclamation AMD/ATI5770 or Geforce GTS 260

guys, im confused what to replace my 9600gt with. kung 5770, di ba 128 bit ra ni xa? or kung GTS 260, pero dili ga support ug DX11. Which is better ba? If you're in budget of around 5.5k to 7k. coz im selling my 9600 gt for 3.2k. should i wait for my dx11 vcards to come out? im thinking about resale value man gyud.

and you know how ATI/AMD Vcards just drops its price. pls help! tnx!

gtx 260 bro ... don't worry about dx11 im sure it is just a driver issue, later on they'll find ways to have these cards run on dx11, and btw, there's not much difference to dx10 in fact dx10 run smoothly for games compared to the other one...im planning also to upgrade to 260, just waiting for price to go down.

I would go for the Radeon 5770. Its 128bit but uses GDDR5. Bottom line is... it'l be just as fast as the GTX260 / Radeon 4870

DX10 or DX11 support is determined sa hardware.... you can't just make a GTX260 work in DX11 with drivers.

    Reason for 5770.

    - Scales better kung mag crossfire
    - Runs cooler and quieter
    - Much lower power consumption
    - Card is not as long as the GTX 260
    - DX11 support
    - Eyefinity (tri-monitor) support
    - Built in HDMI port
    - Better future resale value (GTX260 will soon be phased out)

Daghan drivers nga bati maski new issues nila ambot ngano nagka bati ang NVIDIA. Get ATI bro yaw pag usik ug oras. Di ka mag mahay sa ATI.

Well consider this, we are on the transition stage of exhausting all HD 4000 series video cards and as far as we all know, HD 5000 is as much expensive than the HD 4000 series. When all HD 4000 series cards are sold, the HD 5000 cards are expected to replace the prices of the HD 4000 series.

If you are going to buy right now, a HD 5770 costs around 8-9k. But wait till the HD 5000 series prices go down and its resale value is going to be around 6-7k. Best case scenario is 5k.

i found this link mga bro's

ATI Radeon HD 5770 VS NVIDIA? - Yahoo! Answers

    The 5770 is a "700" series processor, like a 4770. It's intended to be a midrange product.

The performance of a Radeon 5770 lies somewhere between that of the Radeon 4850 and 4870. It's not as fast as the Radeon 4870, so it's also not as fast as the GeForce GTX 260. It's also not quite as fast as the GTS 250.

The Radeon 5770 will be a competitive card when the price drops to about $125. If you have $160 to spend, you would be better off with a 1GB version 4870.

On the other hand, the new Radeon 5850 is a seriously fast card --as fast as a GeForce GTX 285 --though it will cost you $260.
    Source(s):

    http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/rade…

From James' Bit-tech link, "What's more, we found that the card [5770] was also slower than the GeForce GTX 260-216 and Radeon HD 4870 1GB - especially when anti-aliasing was enabled - but it does manage to keep its head well above the Radeon HD 4850, though."

Using the benchmark results found in the Pcgameshardware.com link, let's compare the GTX 260 216 to the Radeon 5770, average frame rates, at the middle resolution (1680 x 1050). They show:

Call of Duty: World at War (DX9) - 5770 14% slower
    Crysis Warhead (DX10) - 5770 6% slower
    Fallout 3 + HD-Pack (DX9) - 5770 6% slower
    Far Cry 2 (DX10) - 5770 11% slower
    Grand Theft Auto 4 - 5770 6% slower
    Half Life 2 Episode 2 - 5770 23% slower
    Race Driver GRID (DX9) - 5770 7% slower
    Stalker: Clear Sky (DX10) - 5770 7% slower
    World of Warcraft (DX9) - 5770 4% slower

That's an average of 9% slower in those games, slower in every game. (Thus, the 5770 is more directly comparable to the GTS 250. The GTX 260 216 is just plain faster.)

As of now more or less pareha ra ang price range sa GTX 260 and 5770.

In terms of resalve value, mas dali mu barato ang GTX 260 in the future especially inig gawas sa bag-o nga Nvidia GPu's in the next month or so.

It's a no brainer if you ask me... check out the international forums and they will tell you the same thing.

GTX260 216 had its day being faster than 4870 and being the more efficient chip (power and temps).
With the introduction sa 58xx/57xx series, ATI took that advantage away.

For me, raw speed/performance is just one factor in determining the value of your purchase...you have to factor in the products resale value, power consumption, value added features, dx11 support, noise etc/

@TS ayaw sa upgrade bro next year na just an advice kay as they say mo barato na padong hapit ang mga cards na imong mga gipang pili. your 9600 will serve you for the time being bro.

i would choose the 5xxx series by next year kana if di mo abot ang 3xx series na highend sa nvidia ako i compare asa may mas worth it.
