    Default solo parent leave. how it works


    im a solo parent and for the first time, i get to enjoy the benefits of being a solo parent of course provided i comply with the terms and condition, one would be that i have a duly signed solo parent card from dswd and i am at least have a minimum tenure with the company im currently working,and that i have 7 days a year leave as a solo parent, my questions are

    1. is this 7 days on top of the vacation leave given by the company?
    2. is there a separate pay for the solo parent leave?

    reasons im asking these questions is that the company im working with doesnt seem to know exactly how this works. please help

    i think daghn man benefits kung solo parent dghn man ug law na ghimu ang goverment ani but sad to know dili jud ma implement ngari sa pinas..

    maybe sa mga private company.

    i think ang rationale ani kay usually ang lalaki baya ang mo abandone sa family, wherein, there maybe situations nga iabandonar sa inahan ang iyang mga anak or family, but ang lalaki, murag given naman gud na mao gyud ang provider sa family. a solo parent may still apply for the male but provided its within the provisions of the law.

    mao lage g generalize nila nga mostly ang lalaki mao ang mo abandone..what about sa dili, naapil diya sa provision na wla man...

    solo parent leave benefit can be availed by either a male or female solo parent (provided they meet the qualifications set by law) .. that's 7days on top of the other VL/SL credits from your company .. i think this is paid leave also (just correct me if i'm wrong) .. you can avail this if you've been with your current employer for at least a year (you should also apply for solo parent ID sa DSWD)

    but in some companies, dili sayon mu-apply for solo parent leave .. your leave application will be granted only if your reason for such is to perform parental duties/responsibilities wherein your physical presence is required .. like in my previous company, naa uban ma-denied because they use their leave credit for "birthday party" pero 2 days gi-applyan... one day ra baya ang b-day sa anak .. mga usual reasons nga valid: enrollment, birthday, PTA meeting, school activities, and the likes ..

    dapat mag set ug kaugalingon guidelines ang company kung unsay mga valid reasons and documents to be presented for solo parents. daghan baya mga solo parent employees ang dili aware sa ilang benefits as a solo parent. sayang kay paid baya na
