so they have a new album eh? I still keep Lateralus on heavy rotation on my mp3 player. I think they're the only nu metal band who successfully transitioned to progressive.

Listening to this album is one HELL of a ride. Makes me wanna ****** somebody...the songs are too connected with each other and gloomy and deathly and their songs are well written not to mention the melody.

I don't think tool is nu metal, bisan katong sa ilang mga early works murag di ko kaingon nga nu metal sila, weird lang gyud ilang music, nya walay kaparehas. thats what progressive is all about, there's no boundaries.

and one thing pud ila main influence is led zeppelin maglibog lang ko gi unsa pagka nu metal nila hehehe.nga kasagaran influences sa nu metal kay faith no more. I think they're not a fan of FNM. maybe some people think kay way guitar solo ila kanta nu metal na, naa tawn nay guitar solo ang Tool pero Unconventional lang, wala mo follow sa usual soloing.

did not like the new album too well... maybe it needs more listening to. Lateralus is still the best tool album for me.

yeah i dont think TOOL is nu metal, i think they would fall sa category nga progressive metal/art rock!! i dont know, you be the judge.
