Help! Stray Problem

I'm from Mabolo and we live near The Persimmon's construction area. I currently have two pups at home right now and my problem is daghan kaayo ug stray dogs diri. Over 7 siguro, with one having bitten a neighbor a few days ago. Not sure if that dog had rabies. Furthermore, another neighbor's lab died a month ago due to Parvo.

I know what happens to strays when dakpon sila sa City Pound, but karon dila na jud madala. Masakiton man gud ni sila and I saw one nagsuka ug dugo. Is there any place to file a complaint? The City Pound perhaps? Mulihok ba dayon sila? Would appreciate your help guys.

Hi Vundaboi! Are you from Gil Tudtud St? I have relatives there right in front of Persimmon and I stayed there before when I was still in College and while I was managing Kahayag.

I suggest you first go to the Barangay Hall and report the incident. From there, they can investigate and see for themselves dayon sila na cguro mulihok on what to do next. You can file a letter of complaint/report with all the details.

With regards to your pups, totally isolate them gyud and if possible, disinfect the area as much as you can. Don't walk them at all in Mabolo because uso gyud kaayo ang parvo and other diseases such as ehrlichia (gikan sa ticks/fleas). Tell your other household members not to step on poop (of course we all don't want to do that!) but it pays to be extra careful gyud. Cleanliness and sanitation is a must! With garbage, comes flies and rats. Rats/mice urine or being bitten by it maka cause na ug Leptospirosis, which is also deadly. Sa mosquitos, comes heartworm. Ok enough na... hope I don't scare you. Prevention is the key gyud.

I hope fully vaccinated and regularly dewormed na imo pups. Even if they are vaccinated, it doesn't mean that they are 100% free from communicating contagious diseases. Boost their immune system with vitamins, especially Vitamin C. You can easily buy LC-VIT at Caminade Mabolo.. or pwede ra pud Ceelin & Tiki-Tiki Plus. That's what I give to my dogs.

Oh yeah, observe your puppies gyud for any warning signs. Tell your family too to help monitor your pups. The signs to look out for are sudden change in behaviour (becomes lethargic, loss of appetite etc.), wet poop with slime or blood, vommiting.... ADTO NA DAYON SA VET. Don't hesitate and wait another day because with just a slight delay, dako na ang bad effect sa imo pup.

Para nako, diretso na lang gyud sa Cebu Veterinary Doctors in SM. Don't make the mistake of going to the Fil-Chinese Vet that is near Andoks. Bahala na nga duol siya sa imo house, ayaw lang gyud ug adto didto. I have horrible experiences there before and I lost a lot of pups because of misdiagnosis and neglect.

This is just one story of mine. When I brought my pups there, they were already exhibiting the warning signs. I trusted my instincts and rushed them to FC clinic. Since they still had an amount of strength, abi cguro nila dili pa seryoso ang condition. They gave a diagnosis, even if they didn't look at the blood test. Nag observe ra sila sa poop, that's all. They treated my pups with the wrong medication. On the 2nd day, they said ok na daw ako pups and pwede na i-pickup the next day. Pagka morning, I got a very impersonal call saying that 1 pup died and for us to get the dead puppy. Grabe kaayo ka insensitive! That puppy was gabriel, the healthiest and chubbiest of them all. Among all the 4 pups I brought there, mao to pinaka lagsik and then siya pa ang namatay. On the 3rd day, ako na gi pull out the 3 other pups. When I brought them to the other vet, lahi diay ang sakit. paet. Time, effort and money was wasted. I swore I am never ever ever going to go back to that clinic again.

Daghan na sila ug customers, but because sa kadaghan, they cannot fully pay attention to your pets. Just go to CVD SM or Ramos or in Animal Kingdom in Lahug.
