Humility is defined as accepting praise and defeat, doing good without expecting reward. A humble person is also somebody who is considerate of those around him; he gives instead of always receiving; he does not brag and he realizes that he is not totally self-reliant. Humble people dont take the limelight or take all the glory. Instead, they share with those who have helped them down the road of success.
What are the ways by which we practice this VIRTUE?
1. Be considerate of those around you.
Take an interest in other people because they are interesting.
Stop comparing ourselves (or our children with others, seeking the success which others attained)
Dont make a big fuss about your achievements.
Seek ways to serve others without looking for applause.
Think of others and not just yourself.
Be confident, but involve others if you can.
When glory comes, remember how you got there and the people who helped you.
Visit the sick, the old or the forgotten.
Be ready to admit your mistakes.
2. Practice modesty.
Avoid exaggerated kind of self-expression through over dressing.
Avoid patting yourself at the back for a job well done.
See yourself as you really are.
Learn to wok in a quiet but effective way.
3. Possess the inner glow.
Humility accept your position in life for the benefit of those you serve.
Stop seeking fame and fortune which makes you hurt people along the way.
Seek to serve others rather than wanting to become famous and rich.
Help others and give your best in everything without expecting any reward.
