guys, my mobo got destroyed by an old long time not used printer. socket 478 with p4 2.4ghz ang ako mobo. i changed it to ecs brand socket lgu775 with 2.6ghz dual core proc.

i found out nga hinay kaayo mu load ug game ang dual core nya mu drag pa cya sa nba live 2006, layo rakayo sa ako p4 2.4ghz. i checked with the store. its ok ra daw if pailisan nako to p4 ang dual core nako ron.

pls. give me a confirmation if lupigon ba gyud ang dual core sa p4 when it comes to gaming.. before i decide today.

my old setup new setup

256mb vc same
1gig memory same
2.4ghz p4 2.6ghz dual core
asusp4s800-mx mobo ecs (forgot the model) mobo

What type of 2.4Ghz ( core name )
and is your dual core Intel 805D ?
Also did you reformat and reinstall ALL the drivers needed after you changed both processor and mobo ?

yup, 805D kato 533mhz fsb

ako p4 2.4ghz kato 533mhz fsb gyapon. di ko sure sa core name, bought this proc two years ago.

yup, i formatted and reinstalled the os and all drivers. walay labot ang mobo sa pagkahinay aning games nako sa? specs sa ako mobo ky socket lgu775; fsb 533, 800, 1022; 2x ddr2 slots, 2x ddr slots; agp8x; 6channel audio. ecs ang brand.. i forgot the model. coz if walay labot ang mobo, ang proc ra muy prob dagoy kay mobo and proc raman ako gi ilisan.

So your using DDR2 for it ? what specific brand and timings? maybe you should look for some patches or registry tweaks for that game. some games ( due to bugs ) actually slow down on dual core systems.. can you test it with some other games or even 3dmark03,05 and 06 for that matter.

ako gipahatod sa store ako pc. i told the owner about the problem and i suggested that itry nila change to pentium 4 3.0ghz and see if mu improve ba ang performance. ok ra sila mu change from pentium d to pentium 4 free of additional charges coz saturday paman nako ni napalit. pero wala pako kabalo if mu improve bajud with the p4 3.0ghz... adtuhon panako sa store karn to check the performance. I really hope ma ok nato coz gkapoy nako cge dili mahimutang. heheh... thanks kaayo sa imo mga info bro ha. i'll update you once ma check nanako didto.

bro, i changed the proc from dual core 805 to p4 3.0ghz... still the problem persists. makawala gana. i'll post the complete details of my new pc setup tomorrow. ako napud hunahunaon nga diperensya ani ron ang mobo or ang os.. dont know if chakto ba coz ako last mobo was asus nya karon ecs na dn ako previous os xp service pack 1 den karon service pack 2 na.

That change to P3 3.0GHz will surely improve your performance since the Pentium D805 is actuall built on a DDR2 platform but yes it can run on DDR1 motherboards, how much did the D805 cost yo anyway?

are you basing the performance on NBA Live 2006 only ? its better if you try benchmark programs, even on a friends X850XT-PE theres a problem with NBA live2006 and needs some patches and updates on the videocard.

I suggest you have your motherboard upgraded into nf4 na chipset kay i had the same problem with my old ecs motherboard it was very slow but when i upgraded into a foxconn na motherboard it went faster.
