Depende nah sa size sa TV sis, ug ang mode of transport sad mo matter.

1.If 21 inches above ang TV labi ha if LCD taxable jud nah syah, though usahay makalusot ra sad.

2.If ang mode of transport handcarry or check-in baggage, again, if 21 in. non taxable sya kay that is a previlege man for OFW's, however, if , ipacargo sa imo fudra, mo vary na sad ang procedure, if air freight or sea freight same size/dimension applies, non taxable gehapon yet, I would suggest that, he must go for door 2 door shipment and not airport pick-up only, kay if airport pick-up gani, maski less than 21 in. kay pangitaan jud mo paagi sa custom officer masingilan ug tax, maayo lang if makatsamba ug tarong nga taga customs.

For example, 24" LCD TV ang i-hand carry, bayaran pa ug tax? Or dili na?

If i-ship ug UPS let's say, moagi pa man gihapon na ug Customs diba though door-2-door ang delivery? Taxan gihapon? Or dili?

Sis, ang allowable lang is 21, tax free, though naa gehapon mi mga kauban na nakalusot sa customs handcarry maski 32" pa gani. Usually ang custom declaration sa description of goods sa proforma invoice is "USED PERSONAL EFFECTS" in layman's term "gamit nha" and not a brandnew unit' though it's really brandnew, either suksokan nimo ug mga cloth or something or you can remove the tag basta anything you can do to make it appear as used one. Mao nay technique sa uban. Pero again, tsamba2 lage sa custom officer nga mataymingan.

UPS , is a courier co., according to my knowledge, (not exactly with UPS, coz i haven't made any transaction with them) all courier co. (DHL, FeDex,Skynet,Aramex) as I used to work with all these mentioned couriers, we have an option man na pwede prepaid ang tax (Shipper pays it in advance) another option is "fees to be collected" the courier can also pay any duties/taxes required under applicable laws & regulations of the country of destination in behalf of the shipper, then, once all taxes are settled with customs, prior to delivery of your shipment, they will inform/notify the receiver that there is tax incurred.

Not until & unless custom duties will be settled that's the only time the shipment will be delivered or release.

I would recommend that, you go for any other cargo forwarding agent available in your area rather than sending with couriers, kay medyo hassle ang courier labi nha if mga electrical/electronics ang items to ship.

Less hassle, more convenient & more economical.

No duties on 1 electronic item for OFWs this X'mas

MANILA, Philippines – The Bureau of Customs (BoC) will be considerate to vacationing balikbayans or overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who would want to bring in electronic items in the country this Christmas.

"In the spirit of the holiday season, ang sabi ko sa ating collectors, examiners at appraisers, lalung-lalo na dito sa arrival area na bigyan naman ng konting konsiderasyon ang ating mga kababayan," said Customs Commissioner Lito Alvarez.

Balikbayans or OFWs will be allowed by the BoC to bring in one electronic product free of duties and taxes.

Based on customs regulations, ad valorem tax is imposed on an electronic product with more than P10,000 value.

Alvarez admitted that the law on duties and taxes is outdated and needs to be amended by Congress.

OFW Rodrigo Cabuena had just arrived from Palma de Mallorca in Spain. He bought family chocolates and clothes as presents for his family because he knows how difficult it is to bring in electronic products in the country.

Aside from the long thorough search of his belongings, BoC members would also bombard him with several questions.

“Alam nyo po naman ang trabaho namin saka yung sahod namin, minimum wage earner lang po kami doon. Ngayon, kung pagbabayarin po kami nun, medyo mabigat yun,” Cabuena said.

Alvarez reminded OFWs that they must honestly fill up the Customs Declaration Form and bring the receipt of the electronic item they want to bring into the country. Alex Santos, ABS-CBN News
