I got to talk to one of the developers over at THQ this morning and it appears they have a working nvidia gtx 380 that they are and have been useing to develop dx11 games with and I was given a expected release date. I asked for any proof of the release date and was refered to 2 sites but this was the only one that did not say Q4 2009.

In a nutshell I was told they want to hit the market with their highest end card on black friday and that nvidia expects the same type of market it created in 2007 with the 8800gt release.
take it for what it's worth with a grain of salt, but I wanted to pass the word on. If this release date holds true it may be worth the wait to see how the card compares to the 5870 and go from there. If anything the price on ATI cards will have dropped by then if nvidia can get the cards on the market that is. ~pgmoney
