mga pro, unsay nindot sa ram, double sided or single sided? and why?

In short, memory modules on the newer single-sided chips are denser, enabling more capacity. What took 16 chips to make a 256M module, now takes eight chips.

However older motherboards may not recognize single sided memory as such and you may find you only get half the rated memory in your system.

So unless you have a new system or recent motherboard upgrade opt for double-sided, if you have a choice.

The main way you tell the difference is that the double sided memory modules are (usually) 16M and the single sided ones are 32M.

Just do the math: divide the rated memory by the number of modules. The single sided one should = 32 and the double sided one, 16.

@limes: Ang VALUE RAM bro for clarifications kay di na bati na RAM. Gi buhat na for budgeted consumers that need not to be expensive. Pero actually pareho rana sila ug capabilities kaya lang mas better jud ang mga high-end rams that are very capable of "Over Clocking" thats why naa silay RAM SINK and also especially made for GAMERS. Sol then If imo kuhaan ug ram sink and mga high end rams pareho ra kaayo na sila ug nawng sa value ram ug pareho na ram.

@yugi naa man ko ato corsair na value ram sauna ug ang xms2 i see the difference pero sa price gamay ra kaau biya. i dont overclock rams kay di kaya sa board cguro and i dont want to fry anything. youre right about them.
@yohann ang dual channel kay kanang duha ka identical na rams na nigana in dual channel mode considering na capable imo board and sakto imo pagka butang sa slot sa rams para mo work siya na feature. doublesided is another thing that im not sure of. hehehe

Agree... single or double sided doesn't matter but if you are referring to single channel ug dual channel.. it does matter, dual channel is better

ang akoa masulti lang sa single og double sided nga ram murag dili at all times ok sagulon ng duha naay usahay dunay compatibility issues and dapat if mag dual channel config ka tapua gyud ang 2 pcs single sided ram sa isa ka channel tapos ang 2 pcs double sided ram sa lain nga channel, if 2 pcs lang imoha ram murag dili ma dual channel if single ang isa niya double sided ang isa better check ang manual sa imoha mobo for ram config sa memory slots

at first diay i thought nga mas lesser og voltage/power consumption ang single sided ram compared sa double sided since mas daghan ang chips sa double sided pero naa man mga double sided nga ubos og voltage rating diay

ang difference sa value rams og high performance ram pod is ang speed,latency,EPP settings,bling/looks, and mostly ang mga high perf mems are overclockable sad
hinoon base sad sa akoa experience if you are an average user dili ka ka feel or maka notice sa difference nila,
pero naa mga value rams nga nindot sad og performance, like kato old school nga mga transcend mems 2gb ddr2 800 cheaper siya tapos ang stock timings lower compared sa kingston and 100% stable if e set to 4-4-4-12-21 nga timings ang na observe sad nako sa kato corsair xms2 dhx nako compare ato nay

dili man sad ang voltage cguro ang basehan sa consumption although part na siya sa powerconsumption. ang current ug ang voltage nuon i multiply kay mao ang basehan sa power consumtion.
