For antique pc running on less than 1g mhz cpu go use XUBUNTU.. KUBUNTU is more windows like and ubuntu is the regular flavor

Edubuntu - with educational applications already loaded. Nindot ni pang schools and pang kids.
Kubuntu - using the KDE as primarydesktop environment, with kde applications already loaded. QT widgets ang gamit.
Ubuntu - using GNOME as primary desktop environment, with GNOME applications already loaded. GTK widgets ang gamit.
All of the above are with similar base system and also using the linux kernel.
Naa pa lain, Xubuntu, using the lightweight and fast XFCE desktop environment, for those who want lean applications, good for hardware with limited resources.
These desktop environment like GNOME, KDE and XFCE are not limited to linux systems only, they can also be used on other Unix-like operating systems.
