La Salle and UST Out of World Top 500 Universities

Last year, 4 RP schools made it in the global rankings of the Top 500 universities. This year, the 4 RP schools received very low rankings that two of them missed the Top 500. Only UP and Ateneo made it to the prestigious list this year.

Only two Philippine universities have made it to the latest rankings of top 500 schools in the world, the lowest in Asia, a report from QTV’s News on Q said.
In her report, Kara David said that based on the 2007 Times Higher Education World University Rankings, only the University of the Philippines (UP) and Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) were able to make it in the list.
The two, however, were at the lower half of the list, with UP at 398th and Ateneo in 451st.
De La Salle University (DLSU) and University of Sto. Tomas, meanwhile, slipped out of the list, ending at 519th and 535th, respectively.

There is only one reason, THESE INSTUTIONS ARE PROFIT ORIENTED. No investment of research and development. They insvested more on nursing... to attract new enrollees.

This is where PRC & CHED failed to regulate...

Lesson, walay opportunity dire pinas. Halos tanan gusto molayas. Recruitment to US, Canada, Australia, UK etc are rampant dire sa ato. Mao dili ta mo asenso ever! Even Cambodia will surpass us in 10 years time. With developments in Cambodia starting to grow, GOODBYE Philippines!

The educational system of the country was destroyed, not by the "un"honorable senators and "un"honorable congressmen .. it really started with the Martial Law. For every dictator knows that good education means smart people in the society .. and dictators does not need smart people, only subservient ones; mao gibuhat ni Marcos sa atoang educational system: he killed good and effective educational system .. it will take another 50 years to undo everything .. pero at the rate that education is becoming expensive every year, who can go to college? Luoy lang ko sa mga graduates nato kay dili gani ka express sa ilang kaugalingon, bisan sa binisaya, unsaon na lang sa english?

ngao gud tawn i-blame ang gobyerno na nawala sa lsitahan ang UST ug la salle? last i check kay private schools mani sila...

kinsa man diya magbuot sa ila curriculum ug facilities ang gobyerno di ay?

i think ato i-blame ang gobyerno kay ang mga state universities (PUP, TUP, Normal... etc) kay wala ana sa lista ug ang UP kay ni-usus ang ranking.. pero ato i-blame ang gobyerno tungod na wala sa lista ang la salle ug ust.. murag sayop sad na dah...
