Filipino-owned Topstrasse Global Inc. has introduced a new line of cheap mobile phone and video camera under the brand name Torque.
Christopher C. Uyco, Topstrasse president, has presented 16 phone models, seven of which are mobile phones while two are digital cameras.
These nine models are now available in the market while the rest will be available toward the end of the year yet.
He claimed the phones are the cheapest in the market, with prices ranging from P999 to P 9,999.
Uyco said his company aims to rank top four in terms of market share in the next two years from the current top six.
Uyco said the financial crisis has paved the way for the penetration of China phones in the country which are mostly smuggled.
Torque phones have creative solutions that meet international standard and is approved by premier and local institutions like the National Telecommunication Commission.
"Our biggest competitors are the China phones," Uyco added.
E50 was the cheapest phone worth P999. It has basic telephone services like SMS and voice calls; E100 is worth P1,199 and has SMS, games, FM radio headset; C100 is worth P2,399, a single handset, SMS, MMS, chat, Bluetooth GAM 1.2; C110 worth P2,119.
Torque also has the cheapest dual SIM phone, D80. This dual standby model has a large 1.5 65K CSTN LCD screen so one can easily read SMS. It has Micro SD slot, FM radio and also an MP3 player for only P2,399.
For those who don’t want to miss their favorite TV shows while on the go, Torque DTV100 has a 2.4 265K color QVGA 320X240 pixel screen where one can watch all of the available free TV channels either in portrait or landscape mode. It also has dual SIM, dual standby Bluetooth and camera phone.
The suggested retail price for this phone is around P5,499.
On the Hale series, D90 is worth P2,990. It has Bluetooth, MMS and with 1.2 MP with video; D100 is worth P2,999; D110 Metal with its full metal housing is priced at P3,199.
In addition, Topstrasse has also launched the High Definition digital market with the introduction of its first HD video and digicam model, Torque ES 5HD.
Torque offers 12 months warranty for handsets and six months for accessories. There are more than 150 Torque service support centers nationwide and Uyco said they will be signing with 50 more service centers.Aside from mobile phones, they also plan to launch other products such as LCD TV, high definition sound and car audio, and net book.
