Read the post, I made in the string theory thread. I made a post to a very good reference if you would like to know more about parallel universes.

Anyway, here goes nothing.
Parallel in this context is not of geometric value. It means that there are infinite universes running in parallel with each other. So what you just mentioned parabolic, hyperbolic, etc.. doesn't even make sense because parallel is not even a conic section.

Regarding your 1st question, it is really quite complex to explain. You have no idea have much derivation it takes explain the electron pair correlation function. This is easily recognized as Pauli Exclusion principle in Quantum Mechanics. The same goes with Quantum Numbers you have probably learned in chemistry 101. The calculations are pretty complex. Anyway, I will try to explain the idea in quantum mechanics that led to the so called parallel universes as simple as possible.

In Quantum Mechanics, every bounded system can be described by a wavefunction because in quantum mechanics matter is treated as a wave. In fact, matter is a a form of wave. These wavefunction tell everthing about the system. You can calculate different states of the system with the wavefunction. The results are probabilities. The probabilities you calculate tell you about the most likely outcome of your system. Now, a very important postulate in quantum mechanics says that every wavefunction can be represented by an infinite linear combinations of wavefunctions to form a complete set. Each element/wavefunction of your set , tell about a certain state of the system. Each coefficient of the wavefunction in the set tell you about the probability of that particular wavefunction can be observed in your system. Why did I just talk about all of these? When you go to highly advanced quantum mechanics, you will deal with more complex problems like in particle physics but you still use the same tools which is quantum mechanics. If you understood everything I explained, then maybe you already have a hint of the answer to the parallel universes. Our universe could just be a particular wavefunction of a complete set which describes an even bigger picture. And there are infinite possible wavefunctions in the set which means there could an infinite number of universes, all possible flow of events in history you could ever imagine. Parallel Universe is just at the same level of many other Quantum Mechanical effects. As of now, it is not even provable. Some of the other Quantum Mechanical effects are now accepted fact are Zeeman effect, Stark effect, Quantum hall effect, electrical and optical quantization, etc.....

As you can see, parallel universe is not even parallel universe theory. It is not even a theory by itself. It is just and effect that might or might not be possible. hehehe! Anyway, if you really are interested read about it. The things I talked about above are mostly mathematical methods in quantum mechanics. yeah, that is indeed what the physicist's working on M-Theory or string theory suggests. But for now, its still theory. M-theory is still in its infancy though and we are still far technologically to even get a glimpse of this. hehehe! Unlike other theories, it simply sprang out of concept. They just extend Quantum Mechanics to include the effects of gravity and everything else. But the problem is that it is too abstract and mathematical. Quantum Mechanics was formulated based on experimental data and so are other theories and laws and all of them have extremely elegant mathematical framework. String theory/M theory on the other hand was formulated out of clever assumptions and postulates which turned out to be mathematically elegant. hehehe! =)

bale niseparate na ang timeline at the time nga gipatay ang imong lolo. bale dili na to ang imong history, dili na to mao imong universe..... so inig balik nimo sa imong present time, ang imong lolo buhi pa gihapon. walay kausaban masking gamay. walay nipatay sa iyaha.
