i remember two labels ang nag una sa mga alternative christian music back in the 90s: tooth and nail and forefront.

karon bati na ila mga artists (with few exceptions like tooth and nail's Underoath, MxPx, family Force 5, and mewithoutyou)

kinsa inyo favorite alternative christian rock sauna?

i was introduced to the alternative side of CCM via the tape Seltzer: Modern Rock To Settle Your Soul (1996) compiled by Forefront records featuring bands like Third Day, Johnny Q Public, Poor Old Lu, Plankeye, The Choir, PFR, etc...

After that ngita na dayon ko mga tape sa mga banda nga gi featured... mostly available sila sa Praise Inc (now House of Praise). ala pa sila booth sauna. mostly ila catalog ky ipon ra sa uban record labels sa music store. then back in the mid 90s, music store was full f excitement and fun. and yah some of those bands were not on Praise Inc but on other labels distributed by the big four...

and most bands on tooth and nails nowadays ky generic na kaayo unlike before. mapili nalang ang nindot sa tooth and nail today. the only band i can think of so far is mewithoutyou

this is due to Praise Inc sampler sauna and mga compilation ky uso man to compilation sauna nga tape.

kanang Seltzer sa Forefront Records nga g distribute sa Praise diha jud ko naka ila kasagaran mga banda.

Then kato Tooth and Nail sampler and most bands pod ila man ibutang asa ila thank you list mga kapareha nila na band mao lista dayon then pangitaon sa music store sauna. nindot paman to music store sauna ky variety pa man to. naa metal, alternative, pop, indie,country, etc...

gamay ra akong nahibalan pero ganahan ko atong pinaka una nga album sa Jars of Clay nga naay Flood. og katong Audio adrenaline nga Bloom album nindot pod to. ayos man gihapon ang '90s alternative mka hinumdom ko hi-school and college days.

i guess we can now add Sunny Day Real Estate and Superdrag to the list of christian artists since their leaders and main songwriters are christians and mostly write on biblical perspective. Plus i believe all Sunny Day members are now christians.

Sunny Day Real Estate diba 90's ni sila? murag isa ni sila sa nag soundtrack sa Batman Forever (1995). ambot kng mao baning bandaha. 8 ang title sa kanta.

i dunno if they're in the Batman soundtrack but yah 90s ni sila. They were named as the bearer of the 2nd wave of emo in which the "emo" sound was mellowed down in contrast to the first wave which sounded almost similar to hardcore (Rites of Spring, Embrace).

But in 1995, only the underground people called them "emo". When their single "In Circles" hit the mainstream airwaves and MTV, they, along with Poor Old Lu, were named as "grunge rockers" by the mainstream media due to the popularity of the genre back then, and also the fact that both bands were from Seattle and Sunny Day Real Estate was on Sub Pop Records, the same label who made grunge popular by signing artists like Nirvana, Soundgarden, Green River, etc...

The band is now reuniting and rumor has it that they'll put a new album. They also released the remastered version of their most popular album in 1995, Diary.
