this is a comedy adaptation of a 1940s horror classic.
what the director and producers are thinking - no one knows.
the story/plot is a mixture of mediocre and ridiculous.
having great actors (nicole kidman, mathew broderick, glenn close, bette middler and christopher walken) didn't help raise the film above "poor"...
now, to answer the question:
advancement of technology, i fear, knows no bound...
a lot of things we have now were considered impossible not so long ago...
example: when you say laptop (now: computer; then: something on top of someone's private parts)
when you say melting pot: (then: only america is given that term; now: either america or you have simply placed the wrong plastic ware in the microwave)
technology has come a long way.
it will go a longer way even when we are already gone....
i love nicole kidman but this movie was a disappointment.![]()
i was a bit disappointed by how the movie turned out to be, mainly because of the reason that it didn't stick with its roots. i have read the original novel of the same title by ira levin before, back when i was still in my second year of high school, when i was doing a book review for my english class. the atmosphere of the book wasn't the same atmosphere i got from the movie and the plot was completely changed and exaggerated.
the characters of glenn close and christopher walken were completely non-existent in the book. i think they just reinvented some part of the story to make it more appealing to moviegoers which apparently didn't work out for me.
i'd give it a 5/10.![]()
bati siya kaayo oi, wa ko ganahi!
all i can say is that the movie sucks even with NK on it.
nindot ang book?Originally Posted by north_star
i love Nicole. so the movie was ok to me. but it's funny how the women in the movie refused to be slaves of their own husbands only to find out in the ending that their husbands are doing the groceries. it's a gender war story that in the end, hasn't really been solved. one would've thought they'd find a way of solving the problem - instead, one gender has to be on the losing end. sad.
ok ra man. dili man jud siya ingon ana ka nindot but it was a nice book. naa man gud mi book review adto sa high school. i remember reading a paperback edition that i borrowed from a public library. ambot kung naa pa to karon. that was 6 years ago...Originally Posted by pazuzu690

Bati nga movie... Definitely not the best movie to epitomize negative effects of technological advancement...
