Cracks within the ranks of the ruling Lakas-Kampi-CMD party have started to surface in the wake of uncertainties spawned by a perceived weak standard-bearer in the 2010 presidential elections, with at least one lawmaker bolting the party for the Nationalist People’s Coalition.
Rep. Annie Rosa L. Susano of the second district of Quezon City, who reportedly harbors plans to run for Quezon City mayor, is the first administration lawmaker to officially abandon the ruling party.
The two-term lawmaker, chairperson of Lakas-Kampi-CMD in the second district of Quezon City, took her oath the other day as NPC member before businessman Eduardo Cojuangco Jr., NPC president and chairman of San Miguel Corporation.
