    Question Learning Cebuano ? ? ?

I am a young Fil-Am businessman, Balikbayan who recently moved to Cebu. I spent most of my life living and studying in the US.

I would like to learn Cebuano.

I know some of the basics already but would really like to expand my vocabulary and grammar.

I am more comfortable learning with private lessons at my home to start and would rather have a one on one teacher. I am available to meet 2 times a week and once a month I can practice in a group setting if you have other students.

So if you think you will be able to teach me Cebuano and have a study plan please contact me with your rates and days you are available.

no need for a teacher so that you wont spend anymore. just talk with your relatives or your helper and most of all read istorya forum..

I would rather learn from formal lessons. I don't mind spending as long as the price for lessons is reasonable and works.

My relatives are in Pangasinan and don't speak Cebuano. Trying to learn from my helper or people around me does'nt work because they never learned Cebuano in a formal setting. Trying to get them to explain the verb "to be" is impossible.

Reading istorya does'nt help because most of what is written is shortened versions in txt form. There is also a lot of slang I don't understand.

It is not as easy to learn as you think when I did'nt learn it growing up. It is not taught in school and there are not many study books that are easy to work with.

I find it harder to meet friends than learning Cebuano.
