Should i get the Sigma 18-50 2.8 or the tamron 17-50 2.8?

i have a budget of around 30k and i'm looking for a fast zoom.
to be mounted on a canon 400d.

anyone who has experienced either of these lenses pls let me know... thanks!

try the Tokina 16-50 f2.8 I have it and I love it so far. 16mm vs 18mm already gives a significant difference. hehehe! plus the IQ of the lens is very good. =)

I haven't personally used a Tamron lense, however, I'd get since it has a wider zoom lens at 16mm.

@radiostar & yatakitumbi: mahal man ang 17-40L, 30k ra akong budget! hehe and i'd really prefer an f2.8 over an f4

Whoops I made a mistake, I was supposed to write down 17mm How about you try getting a wider lens at 10mm-22mm. It's a sigma lense though and I think it costs around 30,000+

@dunmatter- I believe its at the same price at its counterparts. I was also torn with the same decision. As radiostart suggested, the 17-40 f4L was a also very tempting choice. But I was looking for a fast wide angle lens so I was considering what the other brands had to offer. I tried the 3 lenses from Tokina, Tamron, and Sigma and I found out that Tokina had a better build quility and image quality. I am not sure with the image quality thought because I haven't really tested the others in detail.

mga 32k to palit nako sa akong tokina. At that time, nagpromo pud ang Canon mga 33k ilang 17-40 f4l.. so tempting gyud kau to.. hehehe

thanks sa mga input! i think i'll try out the lenses for myself nlang sad...
it's probably better if maka compare ko first hand sa lenses!
