    Default Bios

what really is BIOS? whats the difference between the old PC's and the new PC's nowadays?

what i know is that when i turn on the PC the first thing that happens is that the BIOS checks all the hardware connected to the system unit..after that, the POST compares changes from the current results to past results..

    am i correct?

what else is there to this?

is it safe to say "BIOS of Windows Xp OS" or maybe "The BIOS OF LINUX OS"

im confused by our professor..he misuses the words OS and BIOS... or maybe im wrong and he's right. i dont really know.. i want ur opinions guys..

here's some link BIOS - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

BIOS is actually basic input/output system.
The BIOS is boot firmware, designed to be the first code run by a PC when powered on. The initial function of the BIOS is to identify, test, and initialize system devices such as the video display card, hard disk, floppy disk and other hardware.

Operating system - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Operating System (OS) is an interface between hardware and user. An OS is responsible for the management and coordination of activities and the sharing of the resources of the computer. The operating system acts as a host for computing applications run on the machine.

samething as my stupid teacher before sa high school... she says the ancient iraqi people are persians

well in fact i know very well that ancient iraqis are babylonians, but before being babylonians they are a bit assyrian, akkadian, and sumerian...they are semetic people so they are mixed heritage....hbut they all live in the middle east part

the real ancient persians today are the iranian people... and she also doesnt even know that the Ancient trojans thats are mentioned in the Helen of troy mythology are "Turks".

BACK to Topic..... sayup ug yawyaw imung teacher... ayaw pa takod sa ka bugo

perting sayopa ani!! you should say bios sa mobo.. BIOS resides in a chip located in a motherboard, whatever OS you'll have.. you'll definitely have 1 BIOS program for that mobo. different mobos, different BIOS programs.

the correct term is the BIOS of the computer. The computer can exist without the operating system but it cannot exist without some sort of basic instructions such as the BIOS.
