have you encountered pups with polydactyly? hehe.. nay koy nakit-an nga puppy with extra digits sa paws.. kana ganing vestigial lang nga toes sa ibabaw sa ilang paws.. can vets surgically remove that??

Are you referring to the dewclaws kana extra claws/finger? I dont suggest that you take it off..... Its a risk jud.....
but if your planning to join dog shows, minus points ang dewclaws... BUt pwede ipakuha sa vet, the right time would be during birth jud....

u can have dewclaws removed 3-4 days after birth. si chino kai wa naman dewclaws, mas nice tan-awn jud. dewclaws have no purpose in dogs kai di mana ma use for walking, mas maayo nuon wala kai basin masangit na sumwhere kun mag kab2x.

though, we initially think its quite painful for the dog-- it isn't, since newborn pups havent developed their nervous system fully yet, the bones are still very soft also and it is easy to remove the dewclaw. but if older than let's say a week or 2 ang pup, u have to wait until the time na pwede na mag gamit ug anesthesia since sakit naman na. so if old na ang dog, ayaw nalang.

about risks-- dewclaw removal is relatively safe and pose low risks of infection and bleeding provided proper pre- and post-operative care is done.

magdepende diay kuno bai sa age sa iro ug sa unsa nga legs ang dewclaws.. murag mas lisod kung sa atubangan nga legs.. then ideal sad daw nga very young pa ang dog.. although nasuwayan na sad daw magkuha sa adult.. try lang ug patan-aw sa vet..
