"The Hangover" is a much-talked about comedy in the U.S. Curious much? I drove to the nearest DVD store to get a copy. (hey! Not my fault that it ain’t showing in cinemas yet and I had to resort to my favorite pirate!) The poster and title itself screams… CATASTROPHE which makes this no-brainer comedy, but not completely brainless, a must see --- most especially for guys looking for male bonding quality time.
The film begins with four friends who heads over to Las Vegas for a boys night out hell bent on having the time of their lives before one of them settles down and gets shackled into marriage forever. As the title promises, they woke up the following morning in their very expensive hotel villa --- now totally thrown into chaos, with very bad hangovers plus a huge hungry tiger in the toilet, a baby in the closet, minus the groom and zero memory of the night before equals mayhem that guarantees a good time of watching this movie!
My film appreciation professor taught me: you can tell if the movie is worth sitting through in the next couple of hours in the first five minutes of the film!
“Hangover” appealed immediately to me (not coz Cooper Bradley is in the first shot… quite a looker if I may add) because it’s a typical bromance story which unfolded in untypical fashion… the series of gags and twists that follow is something you’ll have to see and laugh for yourself…
JSYK:
"The Hangover" opened in the US in July, Dan Fellman of Warner Bros. Pictures announced that the movie crossed the $200 million mark. The film earned $11,268,413 over the July 4th holiday weekend, bringing its current box office total to $205,038,233.

In only its first month of release, “The Hangover” has already become the third highest-grossing R-rated comedy of all time.
Fellman enthuses, "This is extraordinary for an R-rated comedy," while Jeff Robinov, President of Warner Bros. Pictures Group, agrees that "The Hangover" is their surprise summer blockbuster. "We believed we had a hit on our hands when we saw it, but the response has been overwhelming."
