The President should or should not appoint SC Justices?

I think we have to change that stupidity for an obvious reason... people of the Phils. should elect SC Justices and not as Presidential appointees to avoid insinuation for being bias when the Executive branch is in question

that is why there is a commission on appointments. dili lang bara-bara ug appoint ang president. mu-recommend lang siya. kung mu-approve ang commission on appointments... good. kung dili... submit na pud lain name.

pareho ra man na sa US system.

Remember ang Justice till retirement na! wala'y term limit. dili co-terminus sa ning appoint sa iyaha!

recommending authority lang ang president. ang naay final say ang commission on appointments. so kung naay usa ka member na dili bilib sa "appointee" mahimong babagan ang appointment.

diba ang 3 equal branches ng phil. govt. ay executive; legislative at judiciary pero bakit yung sa dalawa lang ang binoboto ng tao yung sa judiciary hindi? unfair bai

I think you have a point. This needs to have constitutional ammendment.

I think the Judicial Bar Council makes the short list of recommendees for the president.

President will take a pick from the short list.

Comm. Appointment approves or disapproves.

Of course there would be backroom negotiations between CA and President. hehehe!
