Heroes of Newerth, the age of the new dota ?



We've already know that several games are being developed based on Dota-Allstars. DemiGod and League of Legends are some names that already familiar in this term. While both of them is totally a new game that inspired from Dota, playing Heroes of Newerth is just like playing Dota but with a lot of better graphics. Just see the picture below (click to enlarge) and watch below video, you will know what i mean.

Before you rant and start whining saying this is a rip-off or a copy-cat, etc. please read:

DotA was heavily based, and copied from the map called Aeon of Strife map from Starcraft. If Aeon didn't exist, DotA wouldn't exist.
DotA wasn't made by Icefrog, it was made by different creator's First Euls then passed to Guinsoo, etc. Currently Icefrog is the current Creator, as Guinsoo is making League of Legends.

And lastly, play the game first before assuming Too bad thou its Closed Beta, and you need a key to Create an account.. Maybe i should make an event for the keys..

They contacted me a few years ago to ask if I had any objections to them doing a game heavily based on DotA, which I didn't. I don't really mind all these new games (6 total now I think), competition is a good thing in the long run. I will still work hard to develop and improve DotA on WC3 for everyone that is still interested in it.

After playing this game for a few days, It made me forget DotA, and made me stop playing it for a week or 2, which is very hard to do. Because i have a DotA clan and join tournaments sometimes. I usually play World of Warcraft + DotA each day, now its basically Hon Hon Hon.. (Yes Shortcut for Heroes of Newerth).

Anyhoo i can't spill out anymore info about this game, if i do.. I will get jailed and shot dead.

Lastly the game is in closed beta, you cannot register an account unless you have a closed beta key.

If you want an early review, then this game is pretty much going to be a huge success, maybe the DotA killer.

HEAVILY based on DotA is right. I mean, LoL takes the concept of DotA but at least makes the game itself a little different... But by the looks of it, HoN takes DotA itself, slaps on shinier graphics and different names, and calls itself a new game.

I mean, the map itself is almost completely identical to DotA's, what with the Roshan-like creature being in the exact same position as DotA's roshan, neutral creep spawns in the forest, river separating two sides, secret/goblin shops in the same positions (I'm assuming the white dots are shops)... etc etc

I'm not gonna fully judge the game since I don't have hands-on experience with it, but seriously... Wtf? It looks like DotA with better graphics and different names/models/icons!

Nothing beats the real DOTA.
