Very good...Actually Philippines have been hailed by European Union as one of their allied in fighting terrorism. Pres. Obama did the same thing plus he praised Philippines for great human rights records despite of decades long insurgency.

Although the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) have tried to destroy the image of our country in the international community via endless propaganda of Political Killings (which found to be their fairy tales) and by embarrassing the President in her state visits with protest. But unfortunately, they haven't convinced the international community.

"Destroying the image of our country means destroying the image of Filipinos around the world". And that's why many Filipinos abroad, specially professionals considered CPP and its allied as "Hudas" or "Traitor" and cannot be trusted.

So, we have a great international relations despite of CPP's actions against Filipinos.

the pillars of our foreign policy

    1. independent foreign policy (which is still an aspiration) to advance national interest
    2. promotion and attainment of economic security
    3. protection of the rights and promotion of the welfare of the OFWs...

and supposed to be our foreign policy is based on these...

    kalimut ko sa ika-4... basin US-RP bi-lateral ang ika-4...

What I can notice with our current foreign policy is that we are not just aligning ourselves with the west, we're also having relations even with communist countries. Most of GMA's foreign agreements were all related to open trade and the OFW's. We are some of the very few countries who recognize the "One China Policy" yet still has foreign relations with Taiwan. Our Military have been part of many regional Wars in History, a major participant in UN Peacekeeping Missions. A Philippine General is the commander of the UN Peacekeeping forces in East Timor.
