mga bossing , unsa may mas maa u sa duha...wireless router or wireless access point?...plan to connect my laptop to my existing net conn. i have 1 desktop(which is currently connected to...) and a laptop and using modem/router from GLOBEBROADBAND.

Wireless Access Point = Wireless Switch/Hub = Cheaper = 1-Lan-Port --> Wired Switch
Wireless Router(Access Point) = DSL Modem -->1-Wan-Port; PC/Laptop/Switch --> 4-Lan-Ports
In your case:
You need a ROUTER
