I was at my favorite camera shop today and the sales staff just told me that D400 is coming ...and that they have already received confirmation from their distributor that D300 is ending its production this Fall.

I googled it and found a number of links for the Nikon D400 as well as its "rumored specs"

well lets just refer back to previous releases of Nikon SLRs. Nikon has a bad reputation of keeping its secret behind close doors...

hmmm i could see a lot of Nikon D300's on the 2nd hand market...

this rumor had been in circulation since the D3X/D90 was out. It was said to be on the 16 megapixel. still the waiting game is in effect. hopefully it will be launched/out by August and be available October. expect that the D300 prices will take a nose dive. perfect companion for an FX body

bodies come and go gyud but with the above specs of d400,for me its future prof na.im more excited for the rumoured 35 1.4G and the 85G.im sure they will release a 35mm 1.4 for fx,the 35 f2 is long over due na and they had release a 35 1.8 for dx.

whether a D400 or D300s comes out, it means that we could probably get a bargain D300! ...probably time to upgrade from my 5 year old D70 ;D (how much is a 2nd hand D70 selling nowadays?)
