Phenom x2 550.

As you may well know, the x2 550 is a beast! Even with only 2 cores they OC quite well at stock.

I also have handpicked phenom x2's which can be unlocked to get 4 cores.
The steppings for these handpicked chips are as follows:

I, however, can only attest to the fact that these are the handpicked steppings I have with me; I cannot guarantee of course that they will unlock but it seems this is the experience of everyone with the mentioned steppings.

PRICES:
1) Non handpicked (steppings that i don't see can unlock in the xtremesystems database) = Php 5,888
2) Handpicked steppings = Php 6,488

For more information of this proc which is way cheaper than the e8400 but is at par performance wise. . . .

the trick is to use the old bioses since amd released new microcodes to disable the unlocking feature. Gigabyte however told amd to screw it and so their boards still carry the old microcodes to enable unlocking. I think Asus is also following suit. I haven't seen any announcement from DFI but so far their AM3 boards unlock.

5)also even at stock, the phenom 550 is better price to performance wise than the more expensive e8400. the e8400 has proven to be more of a delicate proc in terms of OC because you have to watch your voltage so as not to fry it. . .

i think the 550 will run with the latest bios but it might identify the processor as b50 instead of 550. But I'm sure they will come out with a bios soon which will officially support it because this board can even carry a 125w tdp 955 and the 550 is only 80watts.

imagine paying for a quad core which OCs well for much less than a core 2 duo. . . he he

actually wala pa ko accounting bai pero basin gamay nalang kaayo. most of the chips have been ordered and ang ni order ganahan pa paliton ang uban handpicked. it's sunday man gud so confirmation will be when they deposit.
ang non handpicked, hurot na for sure.
ok ra nako i give you the price of non handpicked if it won't unlock pero so far sure ko it will as the stepping i have 0921apmw is performing the same as the xtremesystems guys.
