Laptops have an effective life span of 3-4 years. This is about the same span of time when processors move up the next level of speed and performance. On the practical side, this is also about the same life-span of most laptop batteries. When the battery cannot charge itself anymore and you cannot get a replacement battery, then the laptop will surely become a desktop, still usable, but forever bound to an outlet.

Thus, my past two laptops were purchased based on this facts. I decided that investing in top of the line laptops that will be relegated to the desk within 3-4 years was impractical. If your laptop use can be obtained by purchasing an entry-level or mid-range laptop then it would be the practical choice. When one uses only office or basic spreadsheet software, a laptop that is configured for gaming would be an impractical choice. why spend php80,000.00 when a php25,000 lappie will do. just make sure you get a durable model and with good reviews and warranty.

before you buy your laptop, make sure that you know what you will use it for. try reading several threads at the computer-commerce section of Istorya. you will see a lot of istoryans selling their laptops. they may not say it, but the most probable RFS is that they don't actually need it or they bought a lappie that was overspecified and overpriced. daghan kaayo nipalit og laptop para pang-porma pero they realized later on that they don't actually need it. don't make the same mistake. if you are going to use it for studies, research and deskwork then get a desktop and splurge on it. don't be like those people and students you see at coffeeshops or in malls, looking for free wifi. pa maron-ingnon nag study or research apan nagpa-porma lang diay aron ma-noticed. mag lingi-lingi ra ba dayon kay mo tanaw kung gi tanaw ba siya. naay daghan nga ining-ana sa ayala.

actually m gonna need a laptop for my tutorial center..i cant still afford to buy in cash since i invested a lot for my center..i went emcor to check for installment basis, this is the laptop they offered and only the available unit they have as of the moment. i like HP since i got this brand before, but when i check the price of this lappy, does it worth the price for a dualcore w/ 1 gb ram? i read several threads and majority says its overpriced. need lang unta ko advise if is it really worth for its built and longer life span specially the batt. just for those who had this kind of lappy. thanks

For its price and specs, it's too expensive.
