CESAFI 2009 Season is fast approaching, any fearless forecast and suggestions from you my dear istoryans.

My suggestion is that CESAFI should also consider awarding a General Champion for every academic year to further boost the competition and to motivate all schools to improve their over-all athletic program not just concentrate on some fields (e.g. UV-Basketball, USJ-R and USP - Volleyball, UC- Athletics, Table Tennis and other schools too which are grandslam champion on some events)

UAAP and NCAA - the two most prestigious college athletic league in our country had a General Championship award which is awarded to the school with the most points garnered in an academic year for the different sporting events contested.

In UAAP the current champion of a certain event (separate points for men and women for the seniors category and for boys and girls for the Juniors category ) will be given 15 points, 12 to the runner-up, and 10 to the third placer. The following points are given in consequent order of finish: 8, 6, 4, 2 and 1. While in NCAA the points are 40, 30, 20, 15, 10, 8, 6, 5 consecutively.

The awarded General Champion will be judged as the best athletic program for the given academic year.
