BMC Group, USA, is looking for part-time/full-time doctors, medical technologies, medical transcriptionists and nurses who can perform medical record analysis, indexing and organization using our proprietary sotware tools.

We have over 150 professionals working in our offices in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Seattle, Cleveland, Kansas City, Minneapolis, San Francisco, London, Hong Kong and the Philippines. Our medical-legal division is focused on optimizing the extraction of medical legal intelligence from medical records for attorneys and claim adjusters.
Doctors
We are subsidiary of a US company and have been based in Cebu for over 5 years. We have recently expanded our support services to include Medical Legal operations. In line with this new service, we are looking for doctors to work full time/part time with us, interpreting and analyzing medical records for attorneys and claims adjusters in the US.
Required Skills and Experience:
- MD Degree
- Sufficiently understands the legal issues of cases so that reports are focused on issues that are important to attorney
- Can identify and communicate important facts contained within the medical records that are relevant to the legal issues of the case
- Has the ability to discern between facts that may be clinically relevant to a medical professional, but irrelevant to the attorney given the legal issues of the matter
- Can communicate concisely and precisely and can provide a well-written clear, non-verbose analysis
Medical Records Analyst
Medical Records Analysts utilize their medical expertise to interpret and analyze medical records for attorneys and claims adjusters. The position helps identify medical facts and issues that are relevant to the legal issues of injury-related lawsuits and communicate the information in a concise and precise manner.
Responsibilities:
- Reviewing and analyzing medical records
- Dictating/writing chronologies and case analyses
Required Skills and Experience:
- MD or Nursing degree
- Legal education desired but not necessary
- Sufficiently understands the legal issues of cases so that the reports are focused on the issues that are important to attorneys.
- Can identify and communicate important facts contained within the medical records that are relevant to the legal issues of the case.
- Has the ability to discern between facts that may be clinically relevant to a medical professional, but irrelevant to the attorney given the legal issues of the matter.
- Can identify important medical-legal issues that the attorney may not be aware of such as additional witnesses, potential parties, potential causes or contributions to injury.
- Can communicate concisely and precisely and can provide a well-written, clear, non-verbose analysis.
Medical Records Technician
Medical Records Technicians utilize their familiarity with medical records to index and organize medical records using our proprietary software tools. The organized records will be relied upon by attorneys and insurance claim handlers involved with litigation who will often prerform their consulting work based on the organized records. The duties will entail the following:
Responsibilities:
- Reviewing and organizing medical records
- Identifying facilities, provider names, record types and dates
- Deciphering illegible handwriting
- Utilizing our proprietary MedWorx system
- Identifying missing records
Required Skills and Experience:
- Nursing, Med Tech or any medical degree
- Preferably 5+ years experience working with medical records
- Experience working with records in a hospital environment
- Background as a unit secretary or desk secretary in a hospital, or a medical assistant, LVN or nurse assistant.
Medical Transcriptionist
Medical Transcriptionists will utilize their expertise with medical terminology to transcribe dictations of medical records analyses and reviews made by BMC medical-legal consultants.
Responsibilities:
- Transcription of MD and RN dictation from both American and Philippine medical professionals
- Editing and proofreading of medical-legal reports.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 3+ years medical transcription experience
- Possess an exceptional understanding of medical terminology, including medications, procedures and treatments, diagnoses and conditions, anatomical structures.
- Capable of editing medical legal reports prepared by nurses and doctors to correct typographical errors, phraseology, use of English, etc.
- Possesses the ability to produce error-free work product of exceptional quality.
