Because life is a black comedy so ironic that most of us miss the gags. "God is a comedian playing to an audience too terrified to laugh", as Voltaire quips. So. let's lighten up and enjoy the show. Then we'll understand why the Gnostic Jesus laughs. Because life is funny. But only heretics get the joke.

According to Tertullian the Gnostics teach that "Those without gnosis ( knowledge or awareness of GOD) are the dead." Resurrecting is awakening to gnosis. It is the discovery of what Paul calls The "Christ", who represents our shared essential nature of awareness.

Gnostic Jesus means Jesus as THE AWAKENED ONE or the ENLIGHTENED ONE just like Buddha!

Jesus is GOD for the Roman Christians and for the Gnostics Jesus is not a literal GOD but Awakening of Jesus' Divinity or The GOD within.

I know that JESUS had realized his Divinity and we are also called to realize our divinity as he said, "YOU ARE THE SALT OF THE EARTH AND THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD."

Jesus said, "Don't you know that you are gods?" and he said further, "Be perfect as your heavenly father is perfect."

In other words, GOD created Jesus as human being just like the rest of us and he perfected himself and became ONE WITH GOD!
