Mga bro, naa ko Honda Civic '96 model ug ang iyan headlight na-busted with rating kay H4 60/55w. Pwede ba nako mabutangan ug 100/90w na H4 bulb gihapon na dili ko mag-upgrade ug wiring kit?

naa man H4 60/55w na bulb bro na ang output niya kay mora og 120/100w, medyo mahal lang bro. tanawa sa mga autoshops.

Upgrade to 100W bulbs = you need the wiring kit.

HOWEVER, you run the risk of burning your plastic headlight lenses (higher heat output) and reflector with the higher wattage bulbs in time. Higher wattage bulbs are not a necessary expense IMHO. You can get 60W bulbs with a 100W output, at less cost and lesser risk to your electrical systems and headlights in the long run.

You might be able to run 100W bulbs if you had glass headlight lenses, but you run the risk of eventually burning your reflectors and consequently reducing your light output, which would negate your objectives in the first place. Not to mention buying a new set of headlights (which I did). Moreover, even the aftermarket wiring harnesses need to be checked periodically, because mine (branded wiring harness) shorted out and burned in less than a year. Hardly worth it. Just my 2cw.

changing from 60/55W to 120/100w H4 bulbs will melt first your sockets and HL wire harness and eventually busting again your bulbs before it gets to melt your headlamp lens. higher wattage does not necessarily means brighter illumination. illumination is measured in Kelvin (Kelvin). hence your stock wiring and socket can't tolerate the higher heat generated by the replacement bulb. if you insist, change your wiring kit (or opt for ceramic sockets too). or find a lower wattage bulb with higher illumination (kelvin).

Bro moyts, maybe you meant "lumens" sa illumination nga unit. Kay I think kelvin is the color temp ra and if you go higher than 6000-8000 kelvin mu produce na cya ug less light output... I forgot where the table is pero max lumens is around 3000 kelvin - 8000 kelvin ra nga range... higher or lower ana lesser na light.

oops yeah, thanks nor! i stand corrected. lumens is the measure of the perceived power of light (illumination) while Kelvin is the measurement of the temperature radiated from the light source.
