Figure this out:
Three men in a hotel room service and orders a pizza. The delivery boy brings them up with a bill for exactly P30.00. Each man gives him a P10.00 bill, and he leaves.
When the delivery boy hands the P30.00 to the cashier, he is told that a mistake has been made. The bill was ony P25.00, not P30.00. The cashier gives the delivery boy P5.00 and tells him to take it back to the three men who ordered the pizza.
On his way back to the room, the delivery boy has a thought ... these men did not gave him a tip. He figures that since there is no way to split P5.00 evenly three ways he will keep P2.00 for himself and give them back P3.00.
He knocks on the door and one of the men answers. The boy explains about the mix-up with the bill, and hands the man P3.00, then departs with his P2.00 tip in his pocket.
Now the fun begins:
P30.00 - P25.00 = P5.00. Correct? P5.00 - P3.00 = P2.00 Correct?
So, what's the problem?
All is well, right?
Not quite. Answer this:
Each of the three men originally gave P10.00 each.
They each got back P1.00 in change.
That means they paid P9.00 each, which is times three P27.00.
The delivery boy kept P2.00 for a tip.
P27.00 + P2.00 = P29.00
Where is the other peso?
