Pinoy Bands Worth Checking ( my preference)...

i know most people here love metal and punk and emo....

but there are also few like me who love indie rock, alternative rock, folk (of any kind), americana, and country...

so far i didnt find any country and bluegrass yet but these bands are definitely lemonade to my ears...

... when i was a kid i used to listen to a lot of pinoy bands due to ka Pedro but that all stopped when he stopped playing them on air...

i dunno if this is classy but the musaic definitely speaks to me.. im glad i found some pinoy bands who play this kind of music...

i saw Cueshe during an event sa UR 105 sauna and they are showband man.. they could definitely play anything at all because they cover almost anything on the radio...

im not familiar with the latest cueshe music.. kato ra ila mga covers ako nahibaw-an... im not a fan of cover bands man.. i heard naa sila original.. i heard one song on the radio sauna sa carenderia nga ako tigkan anan.. cant comment that much bout it coz never heard the whole cd


anyways i wonder what is "pang chix music"... is hale considered pang chix? what abut death cab for cutie? or bright eyes? or reckless kelly? or even nickel creek and chris thile?

para nko any music can be pang chicks for as long as masulod sya sa mainstream playlist... cause what i observed so far is that girls would scream when somebody is playing decode by paramore yet they cross their brows when a guy is playing an even more melodic song by death cab for cutie.......

it's a matter of popularity.. most chix man gud they dont care about the artistry... ila gi-apas is the popularity lang...

mao most chix they wont care if its backstreet boys or akon or eminem or mymp or death cab for cutie or even radiohead for as long as they can hear the songs on the radio and Myx..

bisan pa cguro ug naay banda tha tsounds like jonas brothers nya dili famous (and dili pod gwapo) dili jud na mopatok sa chix... hehehe

another factor nga iconsider is the looks of the artists/bands.

naa man gud uban chix nga mo dig ug artist bahala dili popular as long nga gwapo.. a good example is Chris Thile. even though Thile's solo music is complex and sometimes weird (as opposed to his Nickel Creek project) ako boardmate naganahan nya not because she heard it on the radio but because i introduced Thile to her through youtube...

Bright Eyes, Hale, Death Cab for Cutie, Chris Thile, Reckless Kelly, and bluegrass/string band Old Crow Medicine Show are fortunate enough to have good looking faces mao even dili sila famous sa radio, if imo sila i-introduce ug girl, naa possibility na maganahan na nga girl...


.... Granting the girl is a pop culture junkie.. or ganahan lang mabelong sa mga "in" kunuhay...

i juz heard Hale's Twilight on the radio... im not sure if famous ba ni sila sa radio or not basta what i know is naa ni sila sa Nescafe hehehe and their music is kinda refreshing sa Philippine rock scene... atleast dili sila pseudo-punk or pseudo-emo... palahi pod hehehe.
