    proc: 3-3.5k (athlon x2 4800/5000)
    mobo:2-2.5k (ecs AM2 compatible)
    ram: 1k (2gb ddr2 800)
    video:1.5k (hd2400 pro)
    hdd: 2k (80gb)
    case:1.5k (ultra generic with psu/mouse/keys/speaker)
    monitor: none
= 12k (all brand new parts)

but i wouldnt call it a real gaming pc... this can be called "an-800x600-gaming-pc"

Even though Thread Starter wanted an AMD-based system I'll match CeeJay's suggestion with an Intel based "800x600-gaming-pc."

proc: 3.5k (Intel Pentium Dual Core E5200)
mobo: 2.5k (MSI or Gigabyte G31-based Mobo)
    ram: 1k (2gb ddr2 800)
    video:1.5k (hd2400 pro or hd3450)
    hdd: 2k (80gb)
    case:1.5k (ultra generic with psu/mouse/keys/speaker)
    monitor: none
= 12k (all brand new parts)
