installing xp on 80gb?

ive been tasked to install xp on an 80gb hard drive PC unit has 256mb of ram. any reason why dili mupadayon ug install?

sometimes i get a blue scree, kanang dumping memory.

oh yeah, once na finish pud cya ug copy sa setup files but on the installing windows xp screen (after DOS), mu hang. and one time di cya muadto ana nga screen.

HDD can be detected at full capacity.

hmmm...bro, kindly check settings sa imu BIOS before installing ur OS, disabled unnecessary settings. Last week lang ko naka-experienced ani na problem in my PVVP-MX Mobo, Intel Celeron D proc..., mo blue screen lang ug kalit inig daun sulod sa windows set-up....after disabling unnecessary settings, nahuman jud tawn ug install ako OS XPP...hope ds idea will help...thanks

simply put.

full format before install.

repartition if u have to.

a 40gb - 40gb wud be very sufficient

a single 80gb partition wud be very great @ full format.

bro, check your RAM....try limpyo using eraser else ibalhin sa lain slot...if mao ra japon try gamit lain na RAM aside anang imuha ginagamit krn....

yeah i did all those. full format on 80GB. also tried partitioning at 40GB each and formatted. no avail.

what i did was to use a different pc and install it to the hard drive. didnt install the drivers yet though. right now im testing if everything would be working well. Ill also be installing the drivers.

thanks for your advises guys! by the way, also cleaned out the rams. daghan gyud hugaw. stupid of me not to think about that.

kasuway ko ana before sir kana mo dump ang memory it involves sa imong registry labi na your in the middle of something bah then naa naka sa windows mo play baron kag games or mo play kag media player watch dvd movies din mo kalit lang memory dumping na blusscreen what i did is just downloaded a registry mechanics sopftware scan man harddrive para ma solve and error then pag human ato wala na.... one thing sad it could be your memory try daw limpyohe or i reformat one more time....hope that helps.....

so BSOD diay prob ani.. try daw lain ram if wala madala ug limpyo ug eraser. first time ni nimo install xp ani nga pc?

kung mo blue screen.. mabasa nimo ang 0x000000 nga numbers? paki post daw.. i check nato..

hi thanks for the replies guys. I finally was able to install it. How? i used a different PC. bolted on the hard drive to it then installed xp and moved the hard drive back to its original PC. ok na cya ron. working fine. i think it also had something to do with the ram. I cleaned it with eraser gyud thoroughly. naa sad koy mr clean nga magic eraser it really helped. right now im not experiencing any dumps.

oh yeah, the hard drive didnt have bad sectors on it.basin ang nag-install maoy nagka bad sector. hehehe
