that is a wrong contention. the BAI vet in the airport will allow puppies up to 6 months and below even WITHOUT anti rabies shots. the age can be verified by the pcci pedigree and registration with the DOB(date of birth). puppies under 3 months are not to be given anti rabies shots, any vet or any breeder or any responsible and knowledgeable dog owner knows that. the earliest anti rabies shot with the least possible option is 3 months, however it is never advisable at that age. to cut it short, if the puppy is less than 3 months old, its not required to have anti rabies shot. as mentioned up to 6 months the BAI vet will still allow.
however, without PCCI or UKC ped and registration certificate thats hard to contest with the BAI vet kun unsa edad sa imo puppy.
if youre the seller, add on the "cage" and the shipping cost. for a cage na one time use, usually around 450 ra. then sa cebu pacific, i can remember it only costed me P650 for the weight of the cage and the puppy(included the dimension of the cage and the puppy was a GSD pup).
kung mag boat, dapat naa kauban since wala mag feed sa pet for 18hours.
secondly,
the best way to travel a puppy is via boat. its never advisable to travel a puppy via plane.
consider the plane's baggage compartment(domestic flights where pets are boarded in the baggage compartment):
- noise from the jet props, dogs has a very keen sense of hearing; the noise is a pure torture to them
- though the baggage compartment is pressurized, there is NO air conditioning. this is definitely not good to the respiratory system of a dog specially a developing puppy.
- dogs are social and pack animals. they felt abandoned without seeing any human or dog in the area.
- the baggage compartment is dark during flight
- motion sickness at 600-800 kilometers per hour. human get motion sickness at this speed, how much more for a puppy?
bottomline: the puppy is STRESSED out by the time he reaches the claiming area in the airport.
some tips if a puppy without any option will be shipped via plane:
- 4 hours before and after; NO FOOD and NO WATER. feed full regular meal 5-6 hours before the travel, give water 4 hours before the travel. travel includes the time the puppy leaves the kennel/home of the breeder
- 4 hours before the travel, give a dose of "Dizi Tab"(alternative to BONAMINE), dose depends on the size of the puppy. dizi tab comes in 25mg per tablet. for medium to large breed, one tablet. for small breeds, half tablet or 12.5mg
- 8 hours before the travel give the puppy DEXTROSE SOLUTION. mixed in water. one spoonful for small breeds, two spoonful for medium to large breeds. you can buy dextrose solution in any agrivet stores like pacifica agrivet. sometimes, large pet shops has this or vet clinic with shops. cost only P20 pesos per package(around 15 spoonful if im not mistaken). this is to give the puppy full if not supplementary energy for the travel and resistance against dehydration(hence the puppy will not drink water 4 hours before and after the travel). i usually give the dextrose solution diluted with water in a large syringe(without needle) and give the solution to the puppy orally.
- let the puppy sleep and rest(ofcourse) after the travel in a tranquil and well ventilated place. dont pull the puppy out of the kennel or the cage when he arrives to the new home. just open the cage door and let him get out by himself. if he dont come out, dont force him. he still fear in a new environment of the new owner. IF after resting, food and water; the puppy shows sign of weakness; give the puppy a spoonful of white table sugar orally. two tablespoonful for medium to large breed.
