+1000 to this. Ihatod lang sa gasoline station that you trust. There are people buying used oil which are reprocessed to look like brand new oil and sold to unsuspecting motorists. So know who you're giving your used oil to.

I save a little (1 or 2 liters) for odd jobs around the house needing a little bit of lubrication (tools, hinges, etc) and the rest I give it to my trusted station for proper disposal.

Another use of used engine oil is as alternative fuel (mixed with water and/or salt water and other liquid) if you use GEET (Global Environmental Energy Technology).

For your reference: Directory:GEET Reactor by Paul Pantone - PESWiki

For safety, paglikay lang pud nga mayab-an ka or imong panit ug used engine oil kay basin makadaot na nimo, panghunaw dayon kung nayab-an or natuluan ka while handling the containers. Make sure di sya init kung isulod nimo ug plastic engine oil container. Kung mag keep ka ug used engine oil, keep it in a secure and proper container aron di pud mahilabtan sa pets or sa mga bata.

As much as possible, do not change your engine oil kung seviceable pa, sometime you only need to change the oil filter while keeping the oil. Kalas pud kaayo nang sige nalang ta change ug engine oil. Aron sure gyud nga tag dugay ka mag change ug engine oil, make sure or paningkamoti nga maayo ang combustion sa imong makina. For gasoline engines, ang nahibaluan namo nga pamaagi aron mag improve ang combustion is to improve the ignition system. Of course for engines using carburetor, keep your fuel-air mixture in optimal setting with no misfire.

For diesel engines nga kusog kaayo maka itom ug engine oil, use water vapor as supplemental fuel. Pwede mag magpasulod ka ug air going sa engine via a water bubbler ug pwede pud nga ipaagi nimo ug GEET ang water vapor + air then pasulod sa intake manifold. Other than mawagtang ang usok sa imong engine, dugay kaayo mahugaw imong engine oil ug dugay na unya ka maglabay sa engine oil. Solved imong problema sa sige palit ug engine oil ug kung asa nimo ilabay.

OT: sori but personally i have to say NO to this..i change my vehix oil as much as posible every 3,500km if taas ang time na cge ra andar ang sakyanan (like magtambay ra nga mag andar) or 4,000km if pareha2x ra ang mileage and hours sa pag gamit sa makina (if ordinary oil)..kalas maybe but hey,its part of the deal..you buy a car, then expected na mugasto jud ka sa maintenance..

thats what i do, i dont know sa inyuha..
