    Default custom resolutions: is it safe if you create it sa LCD?

    good day,

    in another thread, i made a negative comment about aoc 2217v becoz there was so much ghosting in games that it bothered me.

    i was able to change it with a samsung t220 and to cut the long story short, the ghosting problem was gone.

    my question is....
    sa aoc 2217v, maka choose ka ug 1440x900 nga resolution. unya that is the resolution i prefer sa games becoz 1680x1050 is too heavy for my c2d e8400 and 8800gt oc.

    what i noticed sa samsung t220, is that wala ang 1440x900 nga resolution. i experimented with nvidia control panel to create a custom resolution nga 1440x900 and voila, the 1440x900 resolution appeared from the choices. my question is, safe raba ni for my hardware (creating the custom resolution)?

    from what i've read, LCD is best viewed at their maximum resolution...

    ang ako advice bro, just set the resolution to 1680x1050... then sa imo game, sa game mismo nimo i change ang resolution to 1400x900.

    i think it would not do any damage sa imo monitor... pero more advice from experts wud be helpful..

    No, they are best viewed with their native resolution and not max. Some LCD's can display a higher resolution above their native, for example the 226BW or the T220 can display 1920x1080.

    Yes it should be, just enable the black bars on the side/top para dli ma stretch ang image, i believe the 8800GT oc is fine with 1680x1050. I got really good performance with altho i used the 1GB model.

    @earlz,

    thanx for your reply bro. i just wanted to feel nga safe ra ako gibuhat.

    im using the 1440x900 sa games in stretched mode coz for me personally, it looks acceptable (it surprised me how acceptable it looked becoz i really thought mu bati gyud)

    i'll also try to experiment with that 1440x900 sa games using black borders pero i dont know yet how to do it.

    also regarding the 1680x1050 reso in games, its playable raman in my rig. but i feel much more comfortable with the 1440x900 knowing that my fps will stay higher.
