Default Asus W90 [ATI 4870x2 on a laptop]

A version of the W90 notebook from ASUS introduced at this year's CES is now shipping. The W90Vp-X1 sports an 18.4-inch screen with 1920x1200 resolution thanks in part to the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4870 X2 dual video card with 1GB of dedicated memory. Processing power comes courtesy of a 2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo CPU and 6GB of RAM. The mainboard is based on Intel's X38, which is made for desktops. A Turbo Gear function will let users overclock the CPU by 25 percent. The W90Vp-X1 also ships with a 320GB, 7,200RPM hard drive preloaded with Vista Home Premium 64-bit and a DVD burner. The notebook also has an integrated 5.1-channel Altec Lansing speaker system with Dolby Home Theater technology, a 2-megapixel web camera and a Draft N Wi-Fi module. There is also a gigabit Ethernet jack, a Bluetooth module and 56K modem.

An HDMI output is present along with a VGA out, with expansion coming via four USB ports. There is also an ExpressCard slot, eSATA and Firewire ports and an 8-in-1 media card reader. Complete with a standard 12-cell battery, the notebook weighs about 11.5lbs.

The W90Vp-X1 is now available at Newegg, priced at nearly $2,200.

But it has good specs though.

Its has the same story of gaming laptops with consuming more power.

EDIT: And oh, 2k dollars? that's mean. I'd rather build a monster rig with that kind of money.
