If it is a Religion what is the name of Buddhist God ? or is it purely a Philosophy of Life ...
Yes Buddhism is a religion. They don't talk about GOD but rather they emphasize right livelihood.![]()
Buddhism? to some it is science of mind, to some it is psychology, to some it is religion, to some it is philosophy. to some it is way of life. to some, it is a study. but whatever it is, Buddhism does teach about the truth of suffering and a way to end it.
How can Buddhism be a Religion since it Reject the Concept of God ? Is there a Religion without God ?
then again, it goes back to the idea of asking: "What is religion?"
Buddhism does neither rejects or approves the idea or existence of a GOD as how other mainstream religions see it. Buddhism simply says that the controversy of "G-D" simply does not contribute or take away something from the individual trying to better himself through a set of practices particularly that of Buddhism. Besides, Buddhism avoids questions such as WHAT IS GOD? WHERE OR IS THERE A GOD? Because these questions simply turn around the wheel, each answer leading to another question...The only certain way is to practice, practice, practice our own set of belief systems whether Catholic, Jew, Islam or Buddhist,etc..Main Entry:re·li·gionPronunciation: \ri-ˈli-jən\ Function:noun Etymology:Middle English religioun, from Anglo-French religiun, Latin religion-, religio supernatural constraint, sanction, religious practice, perhaps from religare to restrain, tie back — more at relyDate:13th century 1 a: the state of a religious <a nun in her 20th year of religion> b (1): the service and worship of God or the supernatural (2): commitment or devotion to religious faith or observance2: a personal set or institutionalized system of religious attitudes, beliefs, and practices3archaic : scrupulous conformity : conscientiousness4: a cause, principle, or system of beliefs held to with ardor and faith
