hmmm i can reduced it to top 5 but its hard hehehe..

1. Nickel Creek (Chris Thile-mandolin/vocals, Sean Watkins-guitar/vocals, Sara Watkins-fiddle/violin, Rob Trujilo-upright bass/honorary guess not really part of the band. i forgot their other bassist. They're one of today's experimental musicicnas on the bluegrass/folk/country circuit)

2. Dan Wilson (apil na iya work as lead vocals with 80s new wave band Trip Shakespeare and 90s rockers Semisonic and the solo stuff and of course as country band Dixie Chicks' co-writer and guitar player)

3. Fleet Foxes (awesome harmony arrangements. Plus it's a bonus they got the amazing famous twenty-something folk singer J. Tillman on drums/percussion/harmony vocals...it's definitely FOLKIN' TIME!)

4. Alison Krauss and Union Station (nobody mixes bluegrass,newgrass, and country music better than these guys. I love Alison and Dan's voices, the two lead vocalists in this band. Plus the legendary Jerry douglas is part of this band too. He's dubbed as the Jimi Hendrix playing dobro!)

5. Sixpence None The Richer (speaking of poetry, nothing more poetic than their songwriter/guitarist/cellist Matt Slocum. Plus Leigh Nash's vocals is angelic! Too bad mainstream people only know them by their signature hit Kiss Me and their cover of The La's There She Goes. Their new EP Beautiful Machine is a little darker than their previous but still not that hard to listen. they were on hiatus for a while but now they're back and a new full album is expected later this year)

In no particular order:

a.) Pink Floyd (a treat not just for the ears but also for the thought in proportions rarely explored by other composers and musicians.)
b.) The Beatles (their songs are not considered as modern classics for nothing. Songs come and go to and from my MP3 player, but Beatles songs stays there forever. )
c.) Red Hot Chili Peppers (I simply love the 'upbeat' feel of their songs.)
d.) Queen (outstanding vocals and instruments.)
e.) Godsmack & Metallica (kickass music, minus the sometimes irritating and unnecessary 'shouting' typical in other rock/metal bands.)
