Build your own External DVD Drive? an idea.

Ey heres a fine idea.

can i mix an external drive enclosure and a Desktop DVD drive? to make an external DVD drive for laptops and desktops?? i havent tried it yet but im going to buy the parts possibly 2mrw.

1 CDR king hard drive enclosure probably or something similar and a desktop dvd drive. would cost less than 2k

throw ideas or something at me if it might work or not

Yes bro pwede na siya na idea. kaso lang medjo samok lang and bulky pud kay tungod duha ka cables imo i-connect one to the USB drive and 1 to the power source. Naka suway ko ana pero if willing ka mo try get a 5/14 na external drive enclosure and then you can connect it to your internal DVD drive.

well ive just confirmed it with some friends, it CAN BE DONE! the external HDD enclosures are universal with FRONT panels for HDDs, removable if your not going to use it. il buy 1 tomorrow and test it out and show it to you guys.

yeah it could be bulky, but cheaper by 1/2 the price of a slim brand new one

@TS everything is possible labi na mag buhat kag imong style nga HDD enclosure. Ang disadvantage kay hasol kaayo maypa mo palit kag branded one.

its more fun building your own and cheaper too, the satisfaction you can build your own electronics is awesome. lol i partially built my computer, with lots of help from simoko, i dont mind building my own, if you can show me an external dvd drive brand new less than 2k id buy it:P
