It's nice nga mag-cover og kanta but make sure you learn something from it musically and lyrically..Pro moabot gyud ang time nga you feel that you want to have your own song, so the easiest way to make a song is by benchmarking..Accoutning terminology..hehe..Meaning, mokuha lang kag idea gamay sa kanta nga imo nahibaw-an than i-improvize nimo nga mo-fit sa imo gigama nga kanta..

i dunno if this qualify me as a musician but i am like Willie Nelson (even though i did this long before i knew Willie did this too) who doesn't sipra the song. He just listen to it, follow the chords, and make his own arrangements and ways of singing hehehe..

that's what i do too... for the reason nga kapoi sepra hahahaha... or if naa mga events sa church i just follow what they already knew hehehe.. but i know how to sipra. it just that i dont practice it much...

    ..

Anyways, in writing, i just pour down my emotions. most of my songs are autobiographical. It's like my diary.

hehehe and regarding the music, it doesn't have to be catchy... important is you write what u love to write. don't think of its commercial appeal ky if it;s real, then people will feel it. I mean just listen to radiohead, coldplay, my morning jacket, and Can. These guys never write to appeal their audience. They write what they think is of value upon themselves and the write what they love to hear...

However it doesnt mean catchy songs aren't artistic. It depends ra jud sa imo likes. Me, i write catchy songs in the vein of Willie Nelson, Jars of Clay, Lonestar, and some influences from My Morning Jacket, Radiohead, Hank Williams, and Bob Dylan.

I write these kind of songs because i love it and that's what i listen to most of the time....

nope... a gud song depends on the artist's preference... no matter how catchy or how weird it is, if the songwriter love what he's doing, then it'll be fine. Somehow the audience would feel it just like how some mainstream listeners can feel Radiohead's KID A or Wilco's A Ghost is Born

para nko... a good song has to have "recall".... kanang ining patukar, mupatik jud sa alimpatakan nga bsag wa nka naminaw ato na song, still, it plays in ur head.
