Nash, I hope you have sent your application to actual hotels as I think you have better chances of getting hired there rather than here in forum
Here are a few tips to increase your chances of getting hired in a good resort/hotel:
1. Make a clean, simple, well-written CV with a good recent picture of you. (not a picture taken from a cellphone; or a group pic nga giputol lang; etc) Stick to 1 page.
2. Attach a simple application letter. Make sure you follow a standard format (hopefully you learned in school how to write an application letter; if not get samples over the internet), print in simple font, clean white paper.
3. When you get to the interview, dress appropriately. Be abit conservative, simple. Look at what the other employees are wearing, and try to blend in. If city hotel, wear long sleeves and a tie, slacks and good shoes. If resort, short-sleeved collared shirt, slacks, and good shoes. Make sure you look very clean and fresh.
4. Turn off cellphone even if you are still waiting for your turn. Follow instructions and be alert and smiling...the interview starts the moment you arrive the hotel (people are watching you)
5. During interview, face the interviewer, give eye contact, smile, and answer questions simply and be direct to the point. Be honest if you dont know, dont give BS. (prepare for the interview by preparing answers to possible questions)
6. Know what you want but be flexible, ask questions!
7. Most importantly: be confident and be yourself.
Good luck!
