I'm not much of an AMD user/fan myself but I like it whenever a competition releases a competitive product as it drops down prices on the opposing product.
Price cuts for Q9550 and the lower-end i7 is to be expected with this. Share your opinions, everyone!

AMD: Hurray! We finally beat the Q6600!!
Intel: After almost three long years. Congratulations!
congratulations to AMD for finally getting past the 45nm transition. finally, they have something which is actually FASTER in all but 2 areas than the Q6600 (at around 9%, see THG's review).
i've got a mix of feelings on this one. it's good to see AMD finally touching Core 2 Quad territory. but it's sad to see it barely scratching Core i7 territory. pero, considering AMD's platform (as a whole), this step is not bad, not bad at all... kudos!

am not an intel fanboy but still, intel quads is on the lead performance & price (mahal pa karon, bago pa man release
) wise. u can OC q6600 to 3GHz easy, bsan auto volt, with a capable mobo tho.
huwat lng ta unsay mahitabo sunod. (naa pa gani i7 ga babag sa phenom2.)
performance/watt phenom 2 940 is a win.
